Disabled Parents Network is a national network of disabled people who are parents or who hope to become parents. The network welcomes people with physical or sensory impairments, long-term illnesses and people with learning disabilities.
Disabled Parents Network also offers its services to professionals who work alongside disabled parents.
Services on offer, include:
* Contact register to put parents and would-be parents in touch with each other.
* Newsletter four times a year, in print or on tape.
* Practical helpline to answer questions and gather information about equipment and adaptions.
* Services and relevant support for disabled parents.
* Resource list with useful contacts and addresses for finding out about pregnancy, parenthood and disability.
* Exhibition - photographs, drawings and cartoons of disabled parents together with text. These can be borrowed free of charge.
* Professionals contact register so that professionals working with disabled parents can make contact and learn from each other.
* Training of professionals and voluntary workers who work alongside disabled parents and parents-to-be.
* Campaigning and networking to improve services and support for disabled people in pregnancy and parenthood.
