The Mobility Information Service was established in 1979 and was primarily planned as an advisory service to assist persons with a physical disabilities to maximise their mobility potential.
MIS acts as a provider of information on the purchase of vehicles, adaptations to vehicles, wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.
Driving tuition is given by an ADI in specially adapted vehicles. Advice is given on DLA and a wide ranging information service on mobility concerns is provided. Leaflets ands stickers available for disabled drivers and/or their passengers. Mirrors, steering knobs, and easy off parking brakes sold by mail order.
The organisation generates much of its income from publications, assessment and driver-education related services.
