Disability Pregnancy and Parenting International (DPPI) believes people have an equal right to information and choice in all aspects of pregnancy and parenting. DDPI's UK information services is available to:
* disabled people who are already parents and those who wish to become parents ;
* health and social work professionals and students;
* institutions who train professionals;
* organisations concerned with disability and/or pregnancy and parenthood;
* service planners in the fields of health, social services, education and housing;
* others concerned with other issues which effect the lives of disabled people.
Information officers provide an individualised response to each enquiry. DPPI produces a number of guides which are available in print, large print, audio and braille also a DVD for deaf parents and an international journal which aims to raise awareness of the concerns of disabled parents and build bridges between disabled people and professional.
DPPi is based in the National Centre for Disabled Parents. The National Centre provides a place for disabled parents to visit, talk through their needs and look at small items of baby equipment. Visitors can also browse through resources (books, journal articles and audiovisual materials).
