Elstree, Borehamwood and Radlett Mencap Society provides support for people with learning disabilities and their families.
Aims of Mencap local societies:

* To increase public awareness and understanding of the problems confronting people with a learning disability.
* To advise and where possible help parents and carers by providing transport, school holiday playschemes, social clubs etc.
* To help parents overcome their feelings of isolation by arranging social activities.
* To press the authorities, local and governmental for steady improvement in provisions of all kinds for people with learning disabilities.
* To help members achieve self esteem and an enriched quality of life.
