Harpenden Mencap:

The Respite Care Unit at Stairways is open to children in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire with learning and associated physical disabilities aged between 5 and 19 years referred by county council social services. Families are given an annual allocation of respite care nights, the dates to be arranged with the Unit. The Unit aims to provide children with stimulating activities, both in-house and in the community, and to follow agreed care plans to aid each individual's development.
Within St Albans City and District Harpenden Mencap provides:
Four Supported Housing schemes (shared or self contained) with floating/visiting support for single people. Referrals to this service can be made through Hertfordshire County Council. Adult Care Services.
