National Teaching and Advisory Service, The

NT&AS is a national education service for Children Looked After and children in need. The organisation provides services to local authorities and to independent agencies.

NT&AS work directly with children, to research, plan and support mainstream school placements irrespective of the level of difficulties they may face in their lives.

NT&AS advocates that inclusive practice significantly improves the effectiveness of the social work system in helping to prevent family and care placement breakdowns. It improves the safety of children who need protection and reduces the possibility of them drifting into homelessness, unemployment, poverty and crime.
