Respond works with people with learning disabilities who have experienced significant trauma in their lives. We specialise in working with the effects of sexual abuse, but also work with people whose problems are not necessarily sexual.
We provide support, advice and training for families and professionals supporting people with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma. Also work with parents with learning disabilities, and run a Young People’s Services, an Elder’s Project and a bereavement counselling service.
We work with perpetrators of sexual abuse who themselves have learning disabilities. Training courses for organisations can be delivered in house and tailor-made to organisations’ needs.
