Respond works with people with learning disabilities who have experienced significant trauma in their lives. The specialise in working with the effects of sexual abuse, but also work with people whose problems are not necessarily sexual. Provide support, advice and training for families and professionals supporting people with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma.
They also run a project for parents with learning disabilities, a Young People and Older People Project. They offer support for the perpetrators of sexual abuse who themselves have learning disabilities.
They provide a bereavement counselling service. Training courses for organisation can be delivered in house and tailor-made to organisations' needs.
