Opening Hours: Phone is manned 9.00am-5.30pm Monday-Friday.
DELTA aims to help deaf children listen and talk by:
* providing information on the natural aural approach to the education of deaf children
* organising meetings for families across the country who want to help their deaf children listen and talk
* running Summer Schools for the whole family so that the parents can learn the skills and techniques they need
* offering training coures for teachers of the deaf in the natural aural approach
* working with local education authorities who are trying to provide this option
* informing doctors, health visitors, audiologists and other professionals who help deaf children about the approach and its achievements
* setting up research and development projects to evaluate and improve the approach
DELTA has six Regional Coordinators - all volunteers - working with local committees and responsible for the programmes in their part of the country. All of the meetings and courses they provide are open to all who are interested, normally for a small charge.
