CACDP is a UK awarding body accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) offering a wide range of high quality nationally recognised qaulifications from basic to advanced levels. These include sign language and other forms of communication commonly used by deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and deafblind people in deaf awareness.
CACDP offers certification in British Sign Language, Deaf Awareness, Deafblind Awareness, Communication Tactics, Sign Language Interpreting, Deafblind Support Work, Communication and Guiding Skills with Deafblind people, Interpreting for Deafblind People, Note-taking / Electronic Note-taking and Lipskeaking and carries out the selection, training and monitoring of assessors.
CACDP maintains the following registers: British Sign Language / English Interpreters, Lipspeakers, Deafblind Manual Interpreters and Speech to Text Reporters. Individuals who are of the required standard and are available to undertake assignments are listed in CACDPs Directory which is published online and in hard copy.
