Membership organisation for Deaf people.

The BDA is a democratic, membership-led national charity campaigning on behalf of nearly 70,000 Deaf people who use sign language in Britain. It exists to advance and protect the interests of the Deaf Community, to increase Deaf people's access to facilities and lifestyles that most hearing people take for granted and to ensure greater awareness of their rights and responsibilities as members of society.

The Association has several main service areas, with teams covering education and youth, information, video production and community services, offering advice and help. The BDA also publish the magazine BDN, Promotion of BSL.

The BDA is based in Coventry and has regional offices in Belfast, Cardiff, Glasgow and Preston. It represents Britain within the European Union of the Deaf, and in the World Federation of the Deaf (affiliated to the United Nations).

Registered charity number: 1031687
