Cherryhomes Trust helps people with severe physical disabilities. They can help with loans, grants and advice.
Cherryhomes was founded in 1972 to assist people with severe physical disability who seek to maintain their personal independence in living in their own homes with the emphasis on adapting the home environment to cater for their needs.
The way in which Cherryhomes has already helped include: grants for home adaptions, furniture and appliances, modified cars and liaising with other organisations and professionals.
The Trust works with and complements the provisions of the Health and Social Services.
People may contact the Trust themselves or are introduced by friends, family, health and social services.
Once adopted by the Trust, they are accepted as sponsored members for life or as long as they wish.
A liaison trustee is appointed to help each member. The sponsored member is free to call on that trustee at any time as an independent friend, adviser or helper. It is this personal contact and friendship which distinguishes the operation of the Trust. Trustees are chosen for their personal qualities, knowledge and experience in various walks of life.
The sponsored member, their family and the liaison trustee assess what is required and how to achieve it.
