Our alarm service can be provided to anyone living in Welwyn Hatfield District who is vulnerable through age, disability or isolation.
The Service is provided through a Lifeline Unit installed in the home and connected via a telephone line to the operators in our Communications Centre. The Centre operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Help can be summoned simply by pressing a button on the unit or on a small pendant the should be worn. When the button is pressed our operators instantly know who the caller is, where they live and their medical (or any other) details that might help with giving assistance. Our operators are trained to provide the right help in any emergency situation including sending out one of our mobile wardens, if necessary.
Lifeline units are fitted free of charge and are regularly tested in peoples homes by the wardens who can also check on how people are. There is a weekly charge for this service. More information and an application form can be provided by contacting the welfare officer, using the details given above.
