Community Action Dacorum (Headquarters)

The Community Action Dacorum exists to:

* Co-ordinate and offer service, support and advice to voluntary groups in the Borough of Dacorum;
* Give assistance and encouragement to new initiatives;
* Provide opportunities for people from statutory and voluntary agencies to meet to exchange ideas;
* Work in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies in attracting European and Lottery funding;
* Organise joint fund-raising activities such as Charity Fairs, Community Markets and Christmas Card Sales;
* Provide transport for community purposes;
* Provide printing, duplicating and secretarial services, including an information service and quarterly newsletter for all groups;
* Provide low cost furniture to households on low incomes;
* Sustain and increase awareness of the importance of participation in voluntary activity;
* Organise conferences and training courses as required;
* Represent the CVS on such local, regional and national bodies to promulgate the interest of the local community, with special reference to new legislation;
* Help voluntary organisations working with people disadvantaged in the labour market.

Monday to Friday - 9.00am to 5.00pm
