Voluntary Service Overseas

VSO recruits qualified and experienced people aged 20 to 75, from a wide range of trades and professions, as well as providing opportunities for graduates and young volunteers aged 18 to 25.

Each year VSO sends around 900 volunteers overseas in response to a wide range of requests.

Standard placements are usually for 2 years. Placements on our youth programmes are for 6-12 months.

Volunteers work in ocer 30 developing countries mostly in Africa and Asia.

There is no charge to the volunteer on the standard programme - VSO provides a complete financial package including flights, insurance, accomodation, a modest living allowance and NI contributions.

Youth programmes require fundraising towards costs (around £600 or £900).
