Hertsmere CVS aims to enhance and promote the work of local voluntary organisations for the well being of communities in Hertsmere.
To do this they:
* Work with people in the community to assist them to form groups to provide services and support.
* Advise new groups on issues such as funding, charitable status and adopting a constitution.
* Help link groups with common interests to form strategic partnerships.
* Maintain a two-way channel of communication with statutory sector in order to strengthen the development of voluntary sector.
* Voice the concerns of the voluntary sector as a whole in the borough, county and regional initiatives.
* Operate a volunteer bureau to provide information and assist with the recruitment of volunteers (Hertsmere Volunteer Centre).
* Publish a quarterly newsletter "CVS Helps" containing information about voluntary sector issues.
* Operate a library of useful information.
* Deliver training programme for volunteers and voluntary organisations.
* Provide practical support such as photocopying, scanning, e-mail service, fax service, address label printouts, equipment hire, at low cost or no cost.
