The fellowship in Lions Clubs has helped the organisation to grow to more than 850 clubs in Britain and Ireland, with a membership of over 25,000. Their principal aim is to provide help or funds for those in need.

From the many varied activities organised by individual Lions Clubs they are able to raise funds to worthy causes. Sometimes as direct payments, more often as much needed equipment paid for by the Lions Clubs and then given to hospitals, the blind or the disabled.
