Founded in 1953, the Society aims to promote friendliness and co-operation throughout the district, co-ordinate the activities of affiliated non-political and non-sectarian organisations, and welcome newcomers to the district by introducing them to affiliated organisations in which they may be interested.

The Society is responsible for organising "Ricky Week", which begins on the second Saturday in May, and the "Autumn Market" which takes place at Watersmeet on the second Saturday in October.

Affiliation fees:
Organisations £7.50 per annum;
Individuals £2.00 per annum
