The Trust is a partnership with Herts County Council (Environment) and nine of the ten district/borough councils in Hertfordshire, excluding Stevenage.
Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust objectives are:
* preserving buildings of architectural and historic importance;
* helping to rescue buildings at risk;
* organising conservation seminars, exhibitions and visits;
* providing learning and outreach programmes for young people;
* Managing two heritage museums and a medieval hall.
Beams Ltd, the Built Environment Advisory and Management Service, is the trading company of the Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust. It was launched in 1993 to assist local authorities, architects, surveyors, building contractors, developers, owners of historic buildings and the general public with the conservation of Hertfordshire’s built heritage.
Many buildings throughout the county have been restored with the help of the Trust, including three with public access (see links on right-hand side of the page):

* Forge Museum and Victorian Cottage Garden, Much Hadham.
