The United Nations Association of Great Britain is a voluntary organisation made up of individual members and groups. It is independent of the British government and of the United Nations. It works to:

* increase awareness in Britain of international issues and campaigns, especially for disarmament, a fairer world economic order, and respect by governments for the human rights of their citizens;
* put pressure on the British government to fulfill Britain's national obligations to the international community;
* secure critical support by the British people for the United Nations organisation.
