Barkway Non-Ecclesiastical Trust

Grants and loans of money for residents of Barkway and Nuthampstead in financial need.

Please note, the following list provide examples of expenses that the Trust can help with as a guideline only. Applications are considered on a case by case basis.

* weekly allowence for a limited period to meet particular need
* special payments to relieve sudden distress, sickness or infirmity
* travelling expenses on entering or leaving or visiting people in hospital, convalescent home or similar institutions

* towards the cost of adaptations to the homes of the disabled
* to assist in meeting electricity and gas bills
* television licence fees
* telephone installation charges and rental

* furniture, bedding, clothing, food, fuel, heating appliances
* washing machines or other essential household appliances for families in need, radio or television sets for lonely, bedridden or housebound
* food for special diets, medical or other aids, nursing requisites or comforts

* invalid chairs for the disabled or infirm
* the supply of tools or books or payment of fees for instruction or examination or of travelling expenses so as to help recipients to earn a living
* arrangement for a recuperative holiday or change of air
