Macmillan Cancer Support (Hertfordshire)

Three ways Macmillan helps people living with cancer in Hertfordshire:

Clear information and someone to talk to.
Last year thousands of people in Hertfordshire rang Macmillan’s free telephone helpline, visited our information centres and our new mobile unit. Thanks to Macmillan’s trained advisors, cancer patients, family members and friends receive the time, support and information they need.

Health specialists.
More than 45 Hertfordshire-based Macmillan nurses, doctors and other health professionals such as occupational therapists, have the expert knowledge to help make living with cancer easier – from diagnosis through to treatment and aftercare.

Financial help.
Financial problems are a huge issue for people affected by cancer, that’s why each year Macmillan gives over £97,000 directly in small grants to around 2780 Hertfordshire cancer patients. They help with fares to hospital, a warm duvet, or even a last family holiday. We also provide advice to ensure that cancer patients and their families receive the welfare benefits they are entitled to.
