* developing ornamental gardens and a conservation area from scratch;
* growing fruit and vegetables for sale at local farmers markets.
* developing small scale sustainable projects like a compost toilet and wind-generated power;
* working in private gardens in St Albans and surrounding area with Garden Contracts project;
* teams of under 25 year olds are involved in the Community Conservation project working on projects within the community.
People can come to Earthworks as trainees or volunteers. They may be without work, retired, have learning difficulties, have mental ill health or just have some spare time. Everyone coming regularly to Earthworks has the opportunity to be involved in its development.
