Groundwork Hertfordshire is the county's leading environmental regeneration charity. We carry out projects to help build sustainable communities through joint environmental action.
Groundwork helps local communities to improve the areas where they live, work or go to school. We do this by working together with all sectors of the community, including local authorities, community groups, businesses, schools and voluntary groups, to find out what the local problems are and how we can work together on practical solutions.
We encourage the local community to get involved in the improvements, through consultation to find out what local people want, by training people to play an active role in their community and by encouraging them to volunteer on the practical work.
Groundwork's qualified and trained staff can manage all aspects of projects, including:
* community consultation
* landscape design and vision plans
* project management
* implementation of practical work and management of contractors
* youth outreach
* environmental education for all ages
* corporate volunteering and team-building days
* apprenticeships and work experience
* fundraising
* partnership building
* communications and public relations
