Hertfordshire Natural History Society

The Hertfordshire Natural History Society is a local charity leading the study of wildlife in the county. The Herts Bird Club is part of the society, focussing on watching birds. Founded in 1875 our objectives the are to promote the study, recording, monitoring and conservation of wildlife across the county. Information on birds, mammals, butterflies, plants etc collected by society members is collated by expert county recorders and published each year in the Hertfordshire Naturalist and the Hertfordshire Bird Report. This makes the information available to all for the benefit of the environment.

Membership is open to all interested in natural history and the environment, with or without expert knowledge.
The Bird Club has a half day conference each spring and the Society hosts a general interest meeting in the autumn.
