British Council
British Council was established in 1934 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1940 and amended by a Supplemental Charter in 1993. It is independent and non-political and promotes Britain abroad.
British Council operates the UK's international network for education, culture and development. It has representatives in 216 towns and cities in 109 countries, operates 209 libraries, 126 teaching centres and 29 resource centres.
