The Actors Centre provides professional actors with further training of the highest quality and the opportunity to develop every aspect of their craft. The Actors Centre is currently headed by Matthew Lloyd, Artistic Director and Chief Executive, and formerly Artistic Director of the prestigious Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.

They provide a friendly meeting place at the centre of the industry where actors can share information and exchange ideas.

They provide workshops in all the following areas: audition; camera techniques; industry advice; dialect; stage combat; working on film; physical theatre; radio musical theatre; Shakespeare; sightreading; singing; tap; poetry; comedy; Alexander technique; voice and writing.

Training coexists and overlaps with the development of new work in all performance media. Their venue, the Tristan Bates Theatre presents a programme of innovative new work, productions without decor and work-in-progress.
