Summary RNLI
Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, volunteer lifeboat crews have been putting their lives at risk in order to save the lives of other people around the coasts of the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
The RNLI depends entirely upon donations to keep the lifeboats running. Every year more than 1600 people owe their lives to that generosity.
