This nursery school offers free educational sessions of two and a half hours per day for children aged 3 years 4 months to 5 years (there is a lunch club which takes the sessions to three and a half hours). There is also full day care from 8.00am to 6.00pm operating for 49 weeks of the year. This is suitable for children aged 2 years and above. The school is also a children's centre offering a range of services for families with children aged 0-5 years.
Staff experience and the building itself make Arlesdene suitable for children with a wide range of needs. The environment and ethos of the school are supportive and caring, and the school fosters excellent partnerships with parents.
The challenging, stimulating and fun curriculum is based on The Foundation Stage Guidance documents plus careful planning. The rooms are bright and well resourced and children access a large garden area.
Links with the primary schools help the children to transfer.
Arlesdene is a Hertfordshire County Council Maintained Nursery School. It is situated in Blindmans Lane, off College Road, Cheshunt. Cheshunt railway station is 5 minutes away and buses run past the end of the road.
A community room now enables parent/toddler sessions and health visitor sessions to take place. Holiday play schemes and breakfast and after school clubs for older children also take place on site.
