Playbox Pre-school (Hitchin)

Meets:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 9.15am-12.15pm.
Tuesday and Wednesday: 1.00pm-3.00pm.

Lunch Club is held on: Monday 12.15am-1.00pm.

Venue: The Hitchin Christian Centre, Bedford Road, Hitchin (next to Waitrose).

Children may start at Playbox when they are 2.5 years old and do not have to be out of nappies. It is recommended that each child begins with two mornings each week and as he/she becomes more confident, further mornings can be arranged (subject to availability).

Aims of Playbox:
* to give every child the chance to develop at their own level;
* to give every child the chance to learn through play in a safe environment;
* to encourage every child to put down firm foundations for learning through a keyworker system and using the six areas of learning linked to the found arion stage and Birth to Three Matters;
* to provide the right equipment to encourage the above;
* to be available to each child to help them feel special;
* to be available to parents/carers during and outside of pre-school hours;
* to welcome all parents/carers and try to encourage them to come and help. This is optional.
* to have visitors from outside. If anyone has any talents that would interest small childrenm or help their awareness, please share them eg nurse, doctor, fireman, etc.;
* to show children and their parents or carers that they are all precious and each one is valued at Playbox;
* all visitors are made welcome;
* 2004 they received a Herts Quality Standard Award and good Ofsted report.

Playbox is part of Hitchin Christian Centre which is a registered charity.
