Cherry Tree Day Nursery was officially opened by Mayor Janet Dunbavand on the 18th September 1994, and is situated in Bennett End, Hemel Hempstead, just off Barnacres Road.

Their ethos is learning through play with structured daily activities, with emphasis on reading, writing, number work, computer learning, encouraging good manners, confidence, self-respect, and development of effective relationships. The child's talking and listening skills as well as their creative impulses are given every chance to blossom in the fields of art, music and physical arts with their wild variety of equipment. They aim to provide a role model without preconceived ideas about children, and to develop children's awareness of different cultures and languages.

A spacious drive for safe arrival and collection of your child, leading onto a building especially adapted to the needs of the nursery with the main part of the nursery housed within a purpose built addition to the building. At the rear there is a large, safe part paved garden with lots of outdoor play equipment, backing onto a field where children enjoy picnics, ball games and running activities.

Each age group has its own room: Tadpole, Caterpillar, and Butterfly, offering an environment in which to play and learn with a key worker to meet children's individual needs. Every day a verbal or written report of your child's activities and progress is compiled from their observations of your child.

Opening hours:
Monday-Friday 7.30am-6.30pm;
Morning session 9.00am-1.00pm;
Afternoon session 1.30pm-5.30pm.

They are open through the year closing only for public and bank holidays. If you require any variation to the times they will be happy to accommodate your request.

They provide breakfast, mid morning and afternoon snacks with plenty of fruit, no biscuits or crisps unless your child is celebrating his/her birthday. A fresh, healthy and nutritious cooked lunch is prepared daily in their own premises by trained staff qualified in all relevant food and hygiene certificates.

Your child will be cared for by their friendly, caring, experienced and highly dedicated team. Their staff are trained in first aid an as well as food and hygiene. The majority of their nursery staff, and all of its key workers posses at least one of a variety qualifications, including NNEB, and NVQ (levels 1-3) in Childcare.
