Musical Starters - Pre-instrumental Musicianship Classes for Children (Hertford)

I run groups of 4-6 year olds, with six per group plus parents, teaching them the basics of mucsicianship - involving singing and rhythm games, leading to composition of simple melodies. Why do I do this?

I am convinced that pupils benefit from an early, thorough grounding in musicianship. This helps them understand how music works, so they go on to learn an instrument more quickly and enjoy it more.

The system I have adopted is called the Tobin Music System, pioneered for many years by Candida Tobin of Sawbridgeworth. I recently qualified as a Associate Teacher of this method.
