Westfield Children's Centre (Watford)

The Government intends that the provision of good quality integrated services should have a broad and lasting positive impact on children, their parents and the wider community.

To do this, Children’s Centres have been created to offer core services such as early education and day care, parental outreach, family support, business links and training, a one stop shop for childcare information, and many others.

Westfield Children’s Centre is also unique because it is based at the premises of a secondary school, the Westfield Community Technology College.

It now offers the following regular activities:

• Breast feeding clinic – Tuesdays 10.30am – 12.00
• Toddler group – Wednesdays 09.30am – 11.00am
• Toy library – Wednesday and Thursday weekly 11.00am -12.30pm
• Asian toddler group – Wednesdays 1.00pm – 3.00pm
• Roshni (Asian mothers of special needs children) First Wednesday of the month – 1.00pm – 3.00pm
• Positive beginnings toddler group – Thursdays 1.00pm – 3.00pm
• Baby clinic – Thursdays at 1.00pm
• Baby yoga – Fridays 10.00am – 11.00am
• Breakfast club and after school club for children attending St Anthony’s, Hollywell, Laurance Haines, Chater Infants and Chater Juniors, from 7.30am – 9.00am and 3.15pm – 6.00pm
• Ante natal classes are held on Tuesday afternoons and Saturdays
• Post natal group Mondays 10.00am - 12.00pm
• Dads 2 group First Saturday of the month 10.00am - 12.00pm
