The Group is based in Scout Headquarters in East Drive, Watford (off North Western Avenue, close to Dome Roundabout) and accepts both boys and girls.
Adventure is at the core of Scouting. They believe that through adventure, they challenge individuals so they experience new things that enrich their lives.
Within the 6th North Watford Scout Group, they have the following sections that meet regularly on a weekly basis:
* Beaver Scout colony (ages six to eight).
* Cub Scout pack (ages eight to ten and a half).
* Scout Troop (ages ten and a half to fourteen).
In addition, special activities take place during weekends and the holiday periods. Due to popularity and in common with most Scout Groups, a waiting list scheme may operate. Please enquire for more details giving us your childs date of birth. No child is too young to go on the waiting list. For general information on Scouting, please see the national website.
The Scout Associations purpose is to help young people achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. They believe that Scouting works well when young people enjoy "learning by doing" in partnership with adults. They do this by:
* Taking part in a variety of activities and new experiences.
* Exploring the outdoors.
* Participating in teams.
* Taking responsibility.
Provision for Explorers Scouts (14-18 years old) and Scout Network (18-25 years old) is provided by Watford North Scout District.
Scouting is open to those of all faiths and offers equal opportunities to all young people in the community, regardless of their gender, social, religious or ethnic background.
Offers of help from adults interested in leadership, management or trustee roles are always welcome. Please enquire for more information.
