Girlguiding (St Albans)

Girlguiding in St Albans is open to girls of all ages and covers Park Street, Bricket Wood, London Colney, Colney Heath and Sandridge.

Rainbows are aged between 5 and 7 years. There are now ten Rainbow units in St Albans. Rainbows take part in theme evenings and make models and pictures. They play games and learn songs. Once a year units get together for a fun day called a Rainbow Romp.

Brownies are aged between 7 and 14 years and St Albans has 35 units. Brownies love playing games, doing crafts, going on Pack Holidays and having great fun with their friends.

Guides are aged between 10 and 15 years. There is a 13 units in St Albans. They also have a new activity programme full of crafts, outdoor cooking, water sports, climbing, abseiling, drama, fun evenings, and sleep overs.

The Senior Section are girls aged 14 years and upwards. These girls take part in Look Wider which is a programme that develops leadership skills and encourages them to look at their lives in more depth. The girls in this age group take part in many adventurous activities and also have the opportunity to go abroad.

Please contact for details of meeting times and places. There is a free membership and weekly subscriptions paid to the unit.

Adult Leaders are volunteers aged 18 plus who help run a unit of girls. Being an Adult leader or volunteer is a great opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the lives of girls and young women. Becoming a leader does not require lots of qualifications. Training is also provided.

If you can offer some time to help run a unit or provide support in another way, such as preparing accounts, then please get in touch.
