W.A.S.P.S. (Wheathampstead After School Play Scheme)

W.A.S.P.S. opened in 1992 and offers excellent child care for the children of Wheathampstead and the surrounding area.

Located at Beech Hyde Primary School; W.A.S.P.S. organise a regular Breakfast Club (7.30am-9.00am) and After School Club (3.15pm-6.15pm) during school term time; and a Holiday Club (8.30am-5.30pm) for two weeks during the summer and at Easter and half term holidays.

Children take part in interesting play opportunities provided for them; they enjoy planned activities and spontaneous events which support their development and learning; they confidently make decisions, explore and investigate; they gain confidence and self esteem; their language and social skills are extended and they learn to relate well to adults and other children. Children take part in regular physical activities indoors and outdoors and are offered a healthy balanced diet.

W.A.S.P.S. have been accredited with the Hertfordshire Quality Standards Award and received a ‘Good’ Ofsted report.
