The School is a small village school with its own sports ground set in delightful rural surroundings. It caters for the needs of up to 60 children aged 3-9 and attracts pupils not only from Reed and the surrounding villages but Royston, Buntingford and Cambridgeshire.
At Reed they aim to prepare pupils for the outside world. To develop their self-esteem and encourage positive attitudes so that each child can achieve his of her full potential. They also endeavour to foster strong links between school and home and to ensure the continued development of the school as a valued part of the community.
The last Ofsted report stated that the school's overall effectiveness was good with some outstanding features, particularly the personal development and well-being of the pupils.
Parents are kept informed by their monthly newsletter, The Owl. They have an active 'Friends Association' who organise social events and fundraising activities.
