Home Office policy has seven aims:

* to reduce the availability and abuse of dangerous drugs;
* to regulate entry to and settlement in the UK effectively in the interest of sustainable growth and social inclusion;
* to support strong and active communications in which people of all races and backgrounds are valued and participate on equal terms.
