The Department of Health lists 3 main aims:

* Supporting activity at national level to protect and promote the nation's health.
* Securing the provision of comprehensive, high quality health care for all those who need it, regardless of ability to pay or where they live.
* Securing responsive social care and child protection for those who lack the support they need.

The Department oversees the provision of the National Health Service (including ambulance and emergency services) and social care, Health promotion and the operation of local authority social services.

Opening Hours: Monday-Friday 8.30am-5.00pm.
