This local Friends of the Earth group meets regularly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 8.00pm in Bishops Stortford.
Membership is open to anyone who supports the aims of the group. The individual membership fee is £6.
Stort Valley FOE campaigns to raise consciousness on local and global environmental issues. Recent campaigns include action on climate change, and housing growth. They also propose viable alternatives, many of which enhance our quality of life, create jobs and preserve the natural environment for the future. Their campaign activities range from on-street leafleting, stalls and stunts, to lobbying and letter writing.
They meet at least every month on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the campaign co-ordinaters house. They have over 20 members at present although are active membership is smaller. Members are invited to do whatever their time and energy allows; writing letters to you MP can make a big difference! Despite the seriousness of the issues they also aim to have fun while changing the world for the better.
They are always keen to welcome new people with no obligation to join or to make any commitment; just let them know that you are going.
