SSE's objective is to contain the development of Stansted Airport within tight limits that are truly sustainable and, in this way, to protect the quality of life of residents over wide areas of Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk, to preserve heritage and to protect the natural environment.
The Campaign office (01279 870558) is normally open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
The aim of SSE's parent body, NWEEHPA, is to ensure compliance with all rules and procedures designed to protect the public from the effects of airport operations, including the following objectives:
- to represent and assist by all means the interests of Members in the preservation of the amenities, the environment and the quality of life of North West Essex and East Hertfordshire;
- in particular to contain the development and impact of Stansted Airport and
- to co-ordinate the efforts of all persons and organisations in furtherance of the objectives in the other two above in the most effective manner possible.
