The Community Development Ageny (CDA) for Herts primary role in the voluntary and community sector is to be the voice and advocate for the rural communities in Hertfordshire. We achieve this through working in partnership and delivering projects, exchange of information between the public, private and voluntary sectors and, for example, work on the following projects:
* Hertfordshire Sustainable Transport Development Officer
- Scooter and cycle transport solutions (SCooTS);
- Hertfordshire Sustainable Transport Partnership (Tourism);
- Wider welcome to Batchworth Lock Partnership (Access for all routes).
* Rural Development Officers
- Community Consultation;
- Training;
- Funding advice and information;
- Growing Older initiatives.
* Rural Housing Enabler working with local communities to
- Access the need for affordable housing;
- Enable the provision of affordable housing to meet proven local need.
* Village Halls Advisory Service provides information on
- Grants;
- Management issues (eg legal, constitutional);
- Lobbying of local authorities and central government.
* Play Bus provides
- Pre-school learning and play for children on Gypsy and Travellers Sites as preparation for entering mainstream school.
Other projects include:
* Visits Play Area at HMP The Mount which provides
- Play area during visiting hours for children aged 2-12 years;
- Support parents on welfare of children.
Office Opening Hours:
Monday-Thursday 9.00am-5.00pm;
Friday 9.00am-4.00pm.
