The Burma Star Association was officially formed in 1951 with the aim of promoting the comradeship experienced in the bitter fighting in the jungles of Burma, and to provide a welfare organisation to relieve need and distress among members, their wives and dependents.
The Burma Star Association is non-political and non-sectarian and has permanent representatives from the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force and the Royal British Legion on the National Council.
Entrance fee life member £20.00;
Branch annual subscription £3.00 per annum.
To become a full member of the Association an ex-sevice man, ex-service woman or Nurse must have been awarded the Burma Campaign Star for service in Burma during World War II or the Pacific Campaign Star with Burma clasp.
