The legion meets at 68-70 Amwell Street, Hoddesdon, EN11 8UA, on the second Tuesday of each month.
The aims and constitution of the Royal British Legion are summarised as follows:
* It is a democratic, non-party-political and non-sectarian organisation;
* It exists to promote the welfare of those who are serving or who have served in the armed forces of the crown and their dependants - that is, their spouse, children and perhaps other dependants.
Legion benevolence extends to all members of the serving and ex-service community, not just those who belong to the Legion. Money is needed to carry out these objectives and fundraising is therefore a primary function of the Legion.
The Legion works with the other service charities at all levels. It is a member of the Council of British Service and Ex-Service Organisations (COBSEO). The Legion differs from the other charities in that it is a national membership organisation representing all three services.
The Legion, however, believes that each ex-service member should also belong to the association which represents the particular interests of those with whom he or she served.
Date of AGM: November.
Parent organisation: Royal British Legion (Headquarters).
