The A.T.C. is a National Youth organisation with some 1000 units throughout the U.K.Membership is open to all 13-17 year olds with an upper age limit of 20.
The aims of the Corps are:
* To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
* To provide training which will be useful both in the Services and in civil life.
* To foster the spirit of adventure and to develop the qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
Sawbridgeworth is particularly fortunate in that '309' has one of the most modern and well equipped headquarters in the country, with a very experienced and dedicated group of adult volunteer leaders.
Opening hours: Tuesday and Friday evenings 19.15pm-21.45pm.
