Dating back to the 18th Century and in a truly picturesque setting overlooking the 115 acre common in the tranquil village of Chipperfield, The Two Brewers exudes character and charm.
Originally bought as the middle one of three cottages, it was from the outset a popular Inn with locals, the open fireplace and the stone-floored Tap Room offering a welcome haven after a long day’s work in the fields.
The Two Brewers acquired a certain fame as training quarters for many of the great prize-fighters of the day like Jem Mace and Bob Fitzsimmons who sparred in the old Club Room and took their runs round the Common.
