Origin Housing exists to provide:
  • Affordable rented homes.
  • Social care service for people with housing related support needs, including older people, people with learning disabilities and mental health problems.
  • Housing services to support the creation os sustainable, mixed communities.

Within Hertfordshire Origin provides the following housing schemes for people with Learning Disabilities:

East Herts
* Supported Housing (shared of self contained) with day time staff on site with emergency call out. This scheme is for single people and couples with out children, aged 18 to 64. Referrals to this services can be made via Hertfordshire County Council, Adult Care Services.

* Supported Housing (shared of self contained) with 24 hour cover, sleep in staff; Floating/visiting support; Day Time staff on site with emergency call out; Alarm/On call System. This scheme is open to single people and couples without children, aged between 18 and 74. Referrals to this services can be made via Hertfordshire County Council. Adult Care Services.

* Support Housing (shared or self contained) with floating/visiting support with alarm/on call system. This scheme is open to single people and couples without children, aged 18 to 74. Referrals to this services can be made via Hertfordshire County Council. Adult Care Services.

Stevenage
* Supported Housing (shared or self contained) with 24 hour cover including, sleep in staff; floating/visiting support; alarm/on call system. The scheme is open to couples without children, aged between 18 to 74. Referrals can be made through Hertfordshire County Council, Adult Care Services.

* Supported Housing (shared or self contained) with 24 hour cover including, sleep in staff; floating/visiting support; alarm/on call system. The scheme is open to single people, aged 18 to 64. Referrals can be made through Hertfordshire County Council, Adult Care Services.

* Supported Housing (shared or self contained) with day time staff on site with emergency call out. This scheme is open to couples without children and single people, aged 18 to 74. Referrals can be made through Hertfordshire County Council, Adult Care Services.

* Supported Housing (shared or self contained) with 24 hour cover including, sleep in staff; floating/visiting support; alarm/on call system. The scheme is open to single people and couples without children, aged between 18 to 74. Referrals can be made through Hertfordshire County Council, Adult Care Services.

* Retirement housing for older people. 58 self-contained flats and 16 bungalows. Referrals can be made directly to the scheme. Support is provided to tenants.

Three Rivers
Support Housing (shared or self contained) with 24 hour cover, sleep in staff; day time staff on site with emergency call out and alarm/on call system. The scheme is open to couples without children and single people, aged 18 to 74. Referrals can be made via Hertfordshire County Council, Adult Care Services

Within Hertsmere, SPHHA provides the following housing schemes for people with Mental Health problems:
* One floating/visiting support scheme for registered social landlord tenants only. Referrals can be made through Hertsmere Primary Care Trust; Citizens Advice Bureau; Hertsmere Borough Council. Housing Dept; Hertfordshire County Council. Adult Care Services; self referral.

* Supported housing for people with mental health problems. Referrals through Social Services.
