This charity provides services for vulnerable young people the age of 16 to 26 who are or may become homeless. The key objectives are:
* To help resolve any immediate housing crisis;
* To help define any problems underlying the housing crisis;
* To help obtain statutory services;
* To help where appropriate, re-establish positive family links;
* To support the acquisition of living skills;
* To support the transition to full independence;
Services provided include:
* Telephone helpline - signposting and advice on your rights and services in your area (020 7278 4224).
* Advice - concentrates on solving the most immediate problems for young homeless people such as finding a place to sleep at night and then identify services to define and address the underlying causes of the young person's homelessness. A drop-in operates daily from 9.00am-1.00pm (Monday-Friday).
* Advocacy - including benefit entitlement; accessing services under the 1989 Children's Act; representation for refugees and for young people to gain skills necessary to live independently. Resettlement ensuring that the transformation from supported to independent living is successful. Please ring for an appointment.
* Family Mediation - enabling young people to forge positive contact with their families while they are at home or in re-establishing contact when they have left home. Please ring for an appointment.
* Training and employment - Advice information and guidance to help more young people more from NEET to EET, please ring for an appointment.
* Schools Work Project - delivering awareness raising classes to school, in order to empower young people to seek support before crisis point and prevent homelessness in the future.
* Young Offenders Resettlement - help young ex-offenders who are in accommodation build independent living skills and stable lives, please ring for an appointment.
Other services provided to members of the public/other professionals/other organisations:
* Volunteers Service - roles within the organisation exist to provide volunteering opportunities ranging from front line work to central services support (eg. fundraising);
* Supportive Relations - training and consultancy on setting up a family mediation service and ensuring that best practice is achieved.
