Runwood Homes Plc. Residential Home (Wisden Court)

Opened in 1990, Wisden Court is situated one and half miles from Stevenage Town Centre, and is set within a housing estate, with local shops including post office, bakers and grocers and transport facilities.

The home has accommodation for 45 service users and is divided into 5 separate units providing support to those with Dementia and one unit provide short stay. Wisden Court is a accredited dementia care home. There are en-suite facilities within all bedrooms which comprise of an alarm system fitted by each bedside, sink and toilet and cabinet to place toiletries in.

All corridors are fitted with handrails, and there is a pay phone for the service users.

There are garden areas with seating available at the side and rear of the building. There is ample of parking for visitors and visiting practitioners.

Every service user has their own key worker. There are also housekeeping staff to provide cooking, cleaning and laundry services, although service users are welcome to help with a number of tasks around the home. Very few hard and fast rules. The home provides 24 hour care.

Activities include: hair salon to provide hairdressing to male and female service users, library, dentist, chiropodist, optician and all religion denomination.

Relatives, friends and children are welcoming during visits.
