Symonds House is a state of the art residential care home with nursing, based in Hitchin, in Hertfordshire. Two units of 10 beds cater for 20 disabled adults with complex physical disabilities. Typically, they are able to provide for adults with MS, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, strokes and other brain injuries. Residents are of all ages and, though they do not usually admit over the age of 60, residents may stay with us indefinitely unless they need more care than they are able to provide. However, there is an emphasis on integation into the community for those who wish to explore the possibility of future independent living.
The Home aims to provide the highest standards of care possible whilst encouraging residents to achieve their own maximum levels of independence and to play an active role in the life of the Home.
