Family services in St Albans
St Albans has a wide range of arts and entertainment, cultural activities, sport and leisure events for children, young people, parents and carers in the district.The Maltings Arts Theatre has a regular programme of theatre for children on Saturday afternoons as well as weekly drama and art classes. The Alban Arena has a programme of children’s shows and the Trestle Young People’s Theatre runs classes in physical theatre.
Holiday play schemes provide a wide range of activity and educational courses for children aged five plus. These vary from full and half-day provision, to shorter two to three-hour mini-camps.
There is also a Youth Action Programme that offers discounts on sports and arts activities across the district.
The open-air skate-park at Rothamsted Park in Harpenden is open to both skaters and BMX riders, and BMX tracks are provided at Cotlandswick, London Colney and the Marlborough Club in Sopwell.
